Quick Answer: The Best School in Gomti Nagar

Scholars' Home, Vipul Khand-3 is the best school in Gomti Nagar on the measures that predict results: it has been ranked the No. 1 ICSE school in Lucknow for seven consecutive years, it posted 100% results in ICSE and ISC in 2026 (ISC topper at 99%), it caps every section at 35 students, and at ₹1,21,900 a year for Classes XI–XII it is the least expensive of Gomti Nagar's best-known co-educational schools — with no security deposit.

The other schools most Gomti Nagar families shortlist are City Montessori School (Vishal Khand-2), Seth M.R. Jaipuria (Vineet Khand) — both ICSE — and, on the CBSE side, Study Hall (Vipul Khand-2), Lucknow Public School, Amity International (Viraj Khand-5) and DPS Gomti Nagar Extension.

Below: every well-known school in Gomti Nagar by board and khand, the fees side by side, and how to choose.

Why Gomti Nagar Is Its Own School Market

Gomti Nagar was planned from the 1980s onwards as Lucknow's new east, and its schools grew with it. Today there are more established private schools within a few kilometres of Vipul Khand than in almost any other part of the city — ICSE and CBSE, big-brand and independent, 1980s institutions and new campuses.

That density is a gift and a trap. A gift, because a good school is almost certainly close to you. A trap, because with so many choices, parents fall back on brand recognition — and the biggest name is not always the best fit for a particular child. Several well-known names here are franchises or multi-campus groups, so the name tells you less than a visit will.

For a family in Vipul, Vinamra, Vibhuti or Vishal Khand, the real question is rarely "is there a good school nearby?" It is "which of the six good schools nearby deserves the next twelve years of my child's mornings?"

The Five Schools Most Families Shortlist

1. Scholars' Home — Vipul Khand-3

Board: ICSE / ISC · Classes: Playgroup–XII · Co-ed · Section cap: 35 · Fee (XI–XII, 2026–27): ₹1,21,900

The case is simple and numerical. 100% pass in ICSE and ISC 2026; ICSE average 86.51% (topper 97.40%); ISC average 83.65% (topper 99%); ranked the No. 1 ICSE school in Lucknow for seven years; 46 postgraduate teachers out of 51. Then the structural part: every section is capped at 35, which is the single feature that most reliably turns fees into marks.

The campus holds a Robotics & AI Lab, five science labs and a 500-seat auditorium; students use AI-assisted learning applications, take free IBM certification courses and attend enrichment classes; classrooms are large, air-conditioned and naturally lit, on grounds with thousands of trees; the sports programme runs to 22 activities — archery, a dedicated cricket pitch, a skating rink, a basketball court, karate, volleyball and table tennis — and 25+ clubs and societies run from MUN to dramatics. One campus from Playgroup to Class XII means no school change at Class I or Class XI. It is run by educationists with more than 35 years in the field, and its managing committee now includes IIM and Ivy League graduates. Many teachers and staff have been with the school for years, every class follows a set teaching pattern and syllabus, and the whole campus is under CCTV with GPS-tracked school buses.

Best for: Gomti Nagar families who want ICSE, co-education, small sections and a published board average — at the lowest senior fee of the co-ed schools on this list.

On age: With 27 years behind it, Scholars' Home is one of the older and better-known schools in Gomti Nagar, though younger than the city's 60-year-old names. That is also why the campus is modern — built for smart classrooms, labs and robotics from the start. If a very large alumni network is your priority, CMS has one.

2. City Montessori School — Vishal Khand-2

Board: ICSE / ISC · Co-ed · Fee (XI–XII, 2026–27): ₹1,51,820

The city's largest school system, with a campus close to almost every Lucknow home and a UNESCO Prize for Peace Education to its name. The trade-off is scale: sections at the larger CMS campuses are widely reported at 50 or more. Visit the exact campus your child would join and ask for the Class IX section size.

3. Seth M.R. Jaipuria — Vineet Khand

Board: ICSE / ISC · Co-ed · Fee (XI–XII, 2026–27): ₹1,90,400

Well regarded, with strong technology integration in the junior school. The most expensive ICSE school in Gomti Nagar — about ₹68,500 a year more than Scholars' Home at the senior level.

4. Study Hall — Vipul Khand-2

Board: CBSE · Co-ed · Founded: 1986 · Fee (XI–XII Science, 2026–27): ₹2,00,400 + ₹50,000 admission fee + ₹7,500 refundable security

One of Gomti Nagar's oldest private schools and a long-standing CBSE option a few minutes from Vipul Khand-3 — and, on its own published 2026–27 fee sheet, the most expensive of the Gomti Nagar schools on this list at the senior level: ₹50,100 a quarter for Classes XI–XII Science, with admission fees of ₹25,000–₹50,000 on top. Worth a visit if you have decided on CBSE and the fee suits you.

5. Delhi Public School — Gomti Nagar Extension

Board: CBSE · Co-ed · Fee (XII Science, 2026–27): ₹1,27,540 + ₹35,000 one-time admission fee · 2027–28: ₹1,39,300

A CBSE school in Sector 4, Gomti Nagar Extension — a longer daily run for families in central Gomti Nagar. It is one of several separately run DPS-named schools in Lucknow, so judge this campus on what you see rather than the name. Its fee rises about 9% for 2027–28, the admission fee is non-refundable, and we could not find a published board-result average to compare.

Fees in Gomti Nagar, Side by Side

DPS has already published its 2027–28 fees, and the gap widens: ₹1,39,300 a year plus a ₹35,000 admission fee for Class XII Science, against ₹1,28,400 plus ₹9,500 at Scholars' Home — and in the pre-primary years DPS charges ₹1,05,400 a year, roughly double what Scholars' Home charges.

Over the two senior years alone, choosing Jaipuria over Scholars' Home costs about ₹1.37 lakh more; CMS about ₹60,000 more. Scholars' Home also charges no security deposit.

What the fee covers: a dedicated Robotics & AI Lab, AI-assisted learning applications, free IBM certification courses for students, enrichment classes, and 22 sports on campus — archery, a dedicated cricket pitch, a skating rink, a basketball court, karate, volleyball and table tennis among them. Classrooms are large, air-conditioned, naturally lit and ventilated, with never more than 35 children, on grounds with thousands of trees. The quoted annual fee already includes the exam and robotics/optional-subject fees, and there is no security deposit.

The Commute Test

Inside Gomti Nagar, distances look small on a map and large at 7:30 a.m. Before you decide, do the drive:

  • On a school day, at school time. Not on a Sunday afternoon.
  • Both ways. Afternoon pick-up traffic is different from the morning.
  • Price the bus. Ask whether the school bus reaches your block, how long the ride is, and whether it is GPS-tracked.

Scholars' Home runs GPS-tracked buses with a parent tracking app across Gomti Nagar and nearby east-Lucknow localities; the admissions team confirms whether a route reaches your block. See the local guide for the map and timings.

A school ten minutes away that your child reaches fresh is worth more than a famous one forty minutes away that they reach tired, 200 days a year, for twelve years.

ICSE or CBSE in Gomti Nagar?

Gomti Nagar is one of the few parts of Lucknow where you have strong choices on both boards within a few kilometres, so the board question is live.

Joining below Class VI? Don't let the board decide. ICSE and CBSE are both long-established, well-respected boards, and up to Class V what your child learns depends far more on the teachers, the academic plan and the school's environment than on the board.

  • Choose ICSE (Scholars' Home, CMS, Jaipuria) if you want stronger English, deeper subject treatment and more project work — the better foundation for law, commerce, humanities, design and study abroad, or for a child whose path is still open. It is also worth knowing that CISCE revised the ISC Class XI–XII syllabus from the 2025 exams, with some topics removed; it is raising competency-based, application-style questions in board papers — 25% in 2025, 40% in 2026 and 50% by 2027, the style JEE, NEET and CUET use; it added Robotics and Artificial Intelligence as subjects; and from 2025–26, Class XI students can take Modern English in place of the traditional English course.
  • Choose CBSE (Study Hall, LPS, Amity, DPS) if your child is set on JEE or NEET early and you want the school to follow the NCERT books line for line.

5 Questions to Ask a Gomti Nagar School

1. "What was your board average last year — ICSE/CBSE Class X and Class XII?" Not the topper. The average. Scholars' Home publishes its own: ICSE 86.51%, ISC 83.65% (2026).

2. "How many students are in the largest Class IX section?" The number that most predicts how much attention your child gets in the board years.

3. "Is this campus the one on the board I want?" Jaipuria, CMS and DPS all have several campuses; confirm the board and address of the one you are joining.

4. "Does your bus cover my block, and how long is the ride?" Get the actual route, not "we cover Gomti Nagar."

5. "What is the full first-year cost?" Admission fee, security deposit, transport, books and uniform — not just the tuition line.

Visit before you choose. Ask for the detailed syllabus for your child's class and a full tour on a working day, and decide only after you have seen the school. Many well-known school names in Lucknow are franchises: the name is licensed, but each campus is run separately and quality varies. At a young age it matters more that your child fits the culture of a school — and is not lost in the crowd — than how famous the name on the gate is.
